Reading Material to Inspire the Masses... Or sometimes just fabulous drivel.

  • Science Fictions
  • An excellent book written about the discovery of the HIV virus and the discrepencies between what was actually done and by whom. A classic tale of the loudest beast getting the meat. Dr Robert Gallo currently heads the Institute for Human Virology here at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, so the insight into his inner workings was quite interesting. Fascinating tale of scientific integrity, big science, scams and scandals.

  • Number 10
  • A cynical take on the New Labour party of England by Sue Townsend. The British Prime Minister takes a mini-sabbatical to revisit his people - while dressed as a woman. Amusing, but not nearly as good as her The Queen and I or The Adrian Mole Diaries.

  • The DaVinci Code
  • Suprisingly, I actually enjoyed this book, despite all of the rabidly favorable press. Usually, I find myself disappointed by overly hyped books, but not so with this. Sure, it wasn't a high quality piece of literature, but it was still a good weekend's worth of bookage.

  • Uhm, I'll put in the final verdict after I stop laughing at this sentence: "There could have been no more humiliating way for a hunter to die than to be devoured by a beast while caught in the act of masterbating."
